Keeping it Cold for the Kids: Battery School Bus Advocate to Unveil EVI's New Battery Reefer Truck

California’s Kings Canyon Unified School District is getting set to unveil a 100% battery electric refrigerated box truck it plans to add to its fleet of reefers this summer. The truck is a Freightliner M2 converted to battery electric operation by Electric Vehicles International. The new battery vehicle is to be shown at the San Joaquin Valley Electric Vehicle Partnership gathering, hosted by the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District in Fresno, Calif., this coming Monday morning, June 23. Hybrid utility trucks built in Stockton unveiled
Pacific Gas & Electric has five new hybrid maintenance trucks built at Electric Vehicles International in Stockton. The expectation is each truck will reduce fuel usage by about 800 gallons a year. See video

UPS in San Bernardino hosts celebration of zero-emission delivery trucks
The Sun - July 17, 2013
One of Southern California's largest deployments of zero-emission delivery trucks rolled into San Bernardino Wednesday morning for an official unveiling. A partnership that includes Electric Vehicles International, UPS and the South Coast Air Quality Management District, as well as representatives of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, West Coast Collaborative, California Energy Commission and the California Air Resources Board, celebrated the vehicle arrival at the distribution center as good news for the air. Clean Deliveries: UPS deploys 40 zero-emission trucks at Inland facility

Jerry Brown's recent executive order that included goals for the deployment of electric trucks and cars across California. Stockton electric truck manufacturer wins chance to provide U.S. government, military with vehicles

A Stockton firm that makes electric trucks announced today that it has earned the right to sell its vehicles to federal government agencies. Electric Vehicles International said in a statement that it had been awarded a U.S. General Services Administration Schedule, making it possible for federal agencies, including the military, to purchase EVI vehicles.
